MINUTES OF THE OPEN FORUM MEETING ON TRANSPORT HELD ON AUGUST 23, 2015.

1.   The meeting which was primarily held to review the new transport arrangements post SGM and have suggestions from actual users of the system, was well attended by 65 members. A background paper was distributed to all giving all details of the transport service.
2.   At the outset, the Chairman informed the members of the logistics, 740 people from Saket and 100 from outside Saket and Towers had availed of the service, against the estimated 1000 people we expected.
3.   Mr. Jaywant, Sunil Shinde, AshimDasgupta, Mrs. SandhyaKarnik, VijiIyer, Manish Barua, AhesaanVohra, HemantHajare, Samir Adhikari, ChanchalChatterjee, Jitendra Bade, Mr. Torgalmath -  all participated in the discussions. They pointed out lacunae in the time table, need to reintroduce the Sumo service, their opinion on the City Bus, how to increase members etc.
4.   A major decision was taken to review the transport scene every quarter and if it is running in a loss, then a supplementary bill to be raised on all members of the service and the loss to be recouped. If it is in surplus, then the rates to be revised accordingly.
5.   The transport contractor’s base price was raised by Rs. 2/- per km.
6.   Coupons to be introduced at the earliest.
7.   Efforts to be made to reintroduce the Sumo system at the earliest with only 6 people to travel in it at a time.
8.   The Bus time table should be suitably reviewed to reduce the gap to 10 minutes during peak hours.

9.   The meeting ended with chanting of the National Anthem.

Society cannot charge or demand money / donation for the Cultural/Festival Expenses from their members/residents.

23/10/2017 Dear Saketians, Read the following carefully. It is going to have a impact on our society from now on. Post the 2014 amendments to the byelaws, Society cannot charge or demand money / donation for the Cultural/Festival Expenses from their members/residents.  The Society cannot implement such Resolution in AGM / SGM and put burden of contributing any money on all the members including the members who are not interested to participate, even though such Resolutions are passed. For Social, Cultural or Recreational activities; Society should use the Reserve Fund as described in Byelaw 147(b)iii, iv and utilise it as indicated in Byelaw 5(d).
