   ALERT CITIZENS FORUM OF INDIA January 22, 2018. Sub: Alert Citizens Forum welcomes TMC action against Hotels sans Licenses and Safety approvals. The Alert Citizens Forum of India has welcomed the action taken by the Thane Municipal Corporation against Restaurants and Hotels operating without valid licenses and safety approvals, informs Dayanand Nene, President of the Forum. Mr Nene congratulated the Municipal Commissioner Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal for the bold step taken by him without succumbing to political pressures. Today morning the TMC squad demolished illegal extensions and sealed hotels operating without valid licenses and flouting safety norms. Notable amongst them were Sai Krupa hotel at Talao Pali, Whr We met, Talli Lounge, The Bar Index and The Dansing Bottle Lounge. Dear Saketians, Sub: Occupation Certificate (OC) update: I had a lengthy meeting with TMC officials and Suhas Desai - our Corporator regarding our OC. I am informing you about what transpired in the meeting. 1) The old amnesty scheme, which was terminated by TMC last year is over. 2) Along with it, all applications made by various Societies - including Saket -and not attended to - meaning not given OC then - all such applications have been cancelled. 3) Our old application stands cancelled. 4) Based on various representations made by me and others last year, the TMC has introduced a new Amnesty scheme w.e.f. January 2018 up to 30 June 2018. 5) TMC has simplified the scheme and reduced the rates of penalty. 6) The minimum rate of penalty for the delay is now RS. 10,000/- and maximum is RS. 50,000/- depending on area - please refer to the form attached herewith. 7) All Society's and members, will have to submit a fresh application in the given format

January 15, 2018 The Hon. Municipal Commissioner, Thane Municipal Corporation, Thane. Respected Sir, The Society where I reside, Saket CHSL, Swantraveer Savarkar Marg, Thane (W) is a single Society of 24 buildings comprising of 672 members. The complex was constructed in the period 1989 - 1993. Being a single Society for 672 members has brought with it its pluses and minuses. The numbers have helped us in economising our own transport system - we don't rely on TMT and have our own fleet of private buses running from 5.30 am to 11.45 pm. The same numbers prove to be a bane as many times, there is virtually no agreement amongst members on many subjects. One such subject is the Repairs and Renovation of our almost 25 years old buildings. Our society doesn't have an Occupation Certificate due to a case against our builder launched by the Anti Corruption Bureau way back in 1999.  The case is still dragging on in the Court. Dear Sir, First of all, I thank your officers Mr. Khandpekar and Mr. Rawal for the kind courtesy extended to me and our Corporator Mr. Suhas Desai when we met them on Monday, January 15, 2018 to discuss regarding the Amnesty scheme for Occupation Certificate ( OC). This letter is just a confirmation of what we discussed in the meeting. 1) The officers explained to us in detail the new Amnesty scheme introduced by the Corporation. 2) I inquired about the earlier applications made by our society M/s. Saket CHSL, Thane (W). 3) Mr. Suhas Desai pointed out that in the month of September last year, he had raised a question about the OC for Saket CHSL in the General Body meeting of TMC and the ADTP had then informed that OC can be granted. He said that the same has been recorded in the minutes of the Corporation. 4)
