Respected Sir,

On behalf of our organization and as an Alert and alive Citizen of Thane City, we have been highlighting, from time to time, many civic and social issues.
Some issues portray the apathetic and negligent attitude of the citizens. Some other issues are not too palatable to the civic authorities - as they show them in poor light.
The reason for highlighting such issues has never been to cast personal aspersions on anybody but to find out and then try to set right lacunaes in the system so that ultimately it becomes a win win Situation for both - citizens and civic authorities.
Unfortunately, most of times this aspect of the whistle blowers role is misunderstood by the affected people, primarily because their 'interests' get jeopardized.
This letter is to inform you about one such incident.
I had written to you about the loopholes in the new Amnesty scheme for granting Occupation Certificate - the scheme which ended on June 30, 2018.
Post that letter, which, along with other letters written to you and marked to the Town Planning Dept. also, got leaked to the affected parties - agents etc.
Instantly, an atmosphere was created by these affected parties that because of my RTI to the Corporation and my letter to the Municipal Commissioner on the subject, granting of OC to the concerned society - Saket CHSL, in this matter - has been jeopardized and will not be possible.
Sir, these people are igniting the society people against me - that because of me, OC is not being granted, and I have also received threats to my life from sources connected to the agents.
We have only been demanding that a society office bearers have to follow and complete all procedures and compliances of the Corporation in time and the Civic authorities should have one yardstick and one rule for all societies. The penalties should be as per the violations and the interest, rights and properties of the members of all the buildings buildings be protected.

We have already lodged a police complaint about the threats received by me and are contemplating legal remedies too.
This letter is to keep you abreast of what is happening.

Society cannot charge or demand money / donation for the Cultural/Festival Expenses from their members/residents.

23/10/2017 Dear Saketians, Read the following carefully. It is going to have a impact on our society from now on. Post the 2014 amendments to the byelaws, Society cannot charge or demand money / donation for the Cultural/Festival Expenses from their members/residents.  The Society cannot implement such Resolution in AGM / SGM and put burden of contributing any money on all the members including the members who are not interested to participate, even though such Resolutions are passed.
