Why we must support Anna Hazare

Why we must support Anna Hazare. Perhaps after Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan's call for Complete Revolution … Anna's fast may be the most significant mass movement in modern India yet. Look at the way the Govt. has mishandled a popular movement. In the beginning, it completely mis-read the amount of support Anna’s agitation could generate. Fresh from crushing Baba Ramdev’s fast unto death, the Govt. advisors chose to be complacent to the extent of taking things for granted. From August 15, with every single passing day, the ruling polity has come out looking increasingly petty, cussed and vindictive, targeting Anna with every gun that it has at its disposal. It has accused Anna Hazare and his Trust as being "seeped in corruption". It questioned the funding of Anna's website. It tried digging up his ancient army records in the hope of finding something – anything – to chuck at him, hoping something may stick. It borrowed on the weak spine of the Delhi

Enough is enough Mr. Prime Minister

Enough is enough Mr. Prime Minister Dear Prime Minister, Ever since you were selected to occupy the Prime Minister’s post, we have all along thought of you as an honorable man. We were proud of you as one of the most highly qualified heads of state ever in the whole world. You were the person to whom Narsimha Rao turned too to save the country from the verge of bankruptcy in 1991. You are also unanimously credited for being personally honest. Your personal goodwill with the people of the country was such that inspit of a insipid first term, the people of the country gave the Congress a ‘thumbs up’ in 2009, when the choice was between you and Mr. LK Advani. Having said that, I would like to add that your record in UPA-2 is nothing but a disaster. And you have proved yourselves to be the weakest Prime Minister ever to don the chair. Your real and perceived weakness has accentuated your reputation for personal integrity. Which leader would remain personally honest but allow w

Redevelopment of Housing Society

1. REDEVELOPMENT OF CO OPERATIVE HOUSING SOCIETIES IN MUMBAI With the real estate prices touching a new high, residents in old buildings are now discovering that they have an opportunity to unlock immense value from their property by offering it to a builder/developer for redevelopment. Developers, on their part, are also on the lookout for properties with unused development rights where they can build a new structure of a few storeys higher and sell those additional flats for a tidy profit for them. While it may sound like a typical ‘win-win’ situation, the process of redevelopment isn’t as easy as it sounds. It comes with a set of rules, procedures and implications which you need to understand. It is needless to mention here that the Redevelopment of housing societies is usually burdened with bitterness and complaints of high-handedness and corruption against the Managing Committee. Hence, with a view to ensure transparency in societies seeking to undertake redevelopment

SAVE WATER - RESPECT WATER

2000 SAVE WATER SPRINGS DISTRIBUTED IN PUNE -Dayanand Nene Today, our NGO Righteous Foundation distributed 2000 Save Water springs to the residents of Sahakar Nagar in Pune. This user friendly spring costing just Rs 10/- can save upto 30% of water per household per day and has been developed by our Consultant Mr Sudhir Gawand from Thane. Later a demonstration was organised in the PMC which was appreciated by the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner. Saving Water is the need of the day. Last year, for the first time, Mumbai City and surroundings were hit by a 25% water cut. For a city which was never ever short of water, this water cut came as a huge jolt. People started wondering as to how, even with a good monsoon and news of lakes overflowing, was there a shortage of water. The fact of the matter was that though the major lakes supplying water to Mumbai were over flowing, all the lakes had gathered silt upto 6 feet- which was never cleaned. So if you spread ov

Kudos Mr Rajeev - Commissioner of Thane

SAKET PARISAR ALM  May 25, 2011  Dear All,  Municipal Commissioner of Thane Mr. R A Rajeev completed one year of his tenure.  Thee post of a Commissioner is the most powerful position in any Corporation.  Hee controls the bureaucracy and shapes the fate of the city.  Thane had the good fortune of having Mr T Chandrashekhar as our Commissioner in 1999.  He changed the ' chehra mohra' of Thane and gave the city a modern look. Roads were widened, the drainange system upgraded, gutters constructed and foot paths built.  Itt was during Chandrashekhar's tenure that Thane won the Best City of the Nation award.  Postt Him, Thane city has seen a steady decline. His successors Bakshi, Sethi and Jantre could not stem the rot. It was on this background that Mr Rajeev took charge of the TMC last year.  Softt spoken, suave but strict - would be the best way to describe Mr Rajeev. A no nonsense man, he first understood and established his hold on the bureaucracy. Babu's and Corpo
